Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

1. The KrisFlyer miles promotion (the “Promotion”) will be held from 1 March 2019 to 31 December 2019, both dates inclusive (the “Promotion Period”).

2. The Promotion will be administered and run by AIG Asia Pacific Insurance Pte. Ltd. (“AIG”) and is only open to Singapore residents.

3. The Promotion applies only to policies which are successfully purchased via www.aig.com.sg/buy-travel during the Promotion Period, without any cancellation.

4. The following persons will be entitled to receive KrisFlyer miles in the Promotion:

a. For the Travel Guard Direct Single Trip Policy, the individual policyholder;

b. For the Travel Guard Direct Single Trip Family Policy, the main policyholder; and;

c. For the Travel Guard Direct Single Trip Group Policy, each insured person.

(The above policies are hereinafter referred to singly as “Policy” and collectively as “Policies”, and the above persons are hereinafter referred to singly as “Eligible Person” and collectively as “Eligible Persons”.)


Earning KrisFlyer Miles

1. Eligible Persons must be existing KrisFlyer members in order to earn KrisFlyer miles. Visit www.krisflyer.com to find out more about the KrisFlyer programme.

2. Eligible Persons will earn one (1) KrisFlyer mile for every S$1 spent on the purchase of any eligible Single Trip Policy.

3. For Travel Guard Single Trip Group Policies,

a) Each Eligible Person will earn KrisFlyer miles which are computed based on the proportion of the premium for the Policy which is attributable to that Person.

b) Only one (1) KrisFlyer membership number may be entered in respect of each Eligible Person at the point of purchase.

4. For all other Policies, only the KrisFlyer membership number of the main policyholder may be entered at the point of purchase.

5. If the Policy is cancelled at any time during the Policy period agreed at the time of purchase of the said Policy, no KrisFlyer miles will be awarded in respect of the cancelled Policy. If the Policy is cancelled at any time after KrisFlyer miles have already been credited into the Eligible Person’s KrisFlyer membership account, AIG reserves the right to claw back any KrisFlyer miles already awarded pursuant to the Promotion, in respect of the cancelled Policy.

6. To be eligible to receive KrisFlyer miles, the Eligible Person’s details (i.e. Full Name and KrisFlyer membership number) must be provided to AIG via www.aig.sg/mmm, within 60 days of the date of departure indicated in the Policy. The customer details provided to AIG must match the KrisFlyer programme records. In the event that the details provided by the Eligible Persons do not match the KrisFlyer programme records, AIG may inform the Eligible Persons via email to make the necessary amendments online at www.aig.com.sg/mmm.

7. The KrisFlyer miles earned from the purchase of a Policy will be credited within 15 business days after the date of departure indicated in the Policy.

8. The KrisFlyer miles received pursuant to the Promotion are not transferrable or returnable, and cannot be exchanged for cash under any circumstances. AIG reserves the right to replace the KrisFlyer miles earned in the Promotion with alternative rewards without prior notice.

9. The Promotion is strictly based on the above mentioned eligibility criteria. No appeals will be entertained.

 

General

1. AIG reserves the sole and absolute right to do the following at any time:

a. disqualify any Eligible Person from his/her participation in the Promotion for any reason whatsoever;

b. disqualify any Eligible Person from receiving any KrisFlyer miles; and/or

c. claw back the KrisFlyer miles that have already been credited into the Eligible Person’s KrisFlyer membership account.

2. Non-compliance with the Terms and Conditions herein (“Terms”) and/or the breach of any other requirements communicated by AIG to the Eligible Persons may result in the immediate disqualification of the Eligible Person from participating in the Promotion, at AIG’s sole and absolute discretion.

3. AIG’s decision on all matters relating to the Promotion will be at its sole and absolute discretion and will be final and binding on all parties, and no correspondence shall be entered into in relation to the same.

4. AIG reserves the right to extend or terminate the Promotion, and to vary, delete or add to any of these Terms at any time without notice, and at its sole and absolute discretion.

5. In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and any promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these Terms shall prevail.

 

Warranty and Undertaking

1. By participating in the Promotion, you hereby agree to be bound by the Terms herein.

2. You further agree that any information collected or held by AIG (whether contained in the application form or otherwise obtained) may be processed, used and disclosed by AIG, its associated individuals/companies and/or any independent third parties, in order to carry out the implementation and administration of the Promotion. Eligible Persons may opt out of participating in the Promotion via AIG’s website here.

3. AIG shall not be liable in any manner for any claims, losses, damages or expenses arising out of, or relating to, the Promotion.

4. AIG assumes no responsibility for incomplete, lost, late, damaged, illegible, misdirected forms and/or other forms of communication, which may result in any Policy not being purchased during the Promotion Period.

5. AIG is not responsible for the erroneous crediting of miles if the same is due to the provision to AIG of incorrect information pertaining to the Eligible Person (including, but not limited to, KrisFlyer membership number).

6. AIG is not the supplier of KrisFlyer miles. The use and redemption of KrisFlyer miles is subject to Terms and Conditions imposed by Singapore Airlines Limited and/or SilkAir (Singapore) Private Limited. Any enquiry or complaint regarding the KrisFlyer miles or the goods redeemed by / service relating thereto should be directed to Singapore Airlines Limited and/or SilkAir (Singapore) Private Limited.

7. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. The Courts of Singapore shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from this Promotion and these Terms, including the validity and enforceability thereof.

8. AIG’s Travel Guard Direct policies are protected under the Policy Owners’ Protection Scheme which is administered by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC). Coverage for these policies is automatic and no further action is required from you. For more information on the types of benefits that are covered under the scheme as well as the limits of coverage, where applicable, please contact AIG Asia Pacific Insurance Pte. Eligibility

1. This promotion (“Promotion”) will be administered and run by AIG Asia Pacific Insurance Pte. Ltd. (“AIG”) and is only open to Singapore residents.


2. The Promotion period is from 2 May 2018 to 31 December 2019, both dates inclusive (the “Promotion Period”).


3. Employees of AIG and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate in the Promotion.


4. To participate in the Promotion, you must make:

        i) a commercial flight booking departing from Singapore (“Booking”); and

        ii) a successful purchase of a valid “Travel Insurance by Travel Guard” policy underwritten by AIG
            (“Policy”), only through www.singaporeair.com or www.silkair.com during the Promotion.


Earning of KrisFlyer miles

1. AIG reserves the right to disqualify any participant at its sole discretion.


2. Cancellation of the Booking or Policy will disqualify a participant from being eligible to earn KrisFlyer miles in this Promotion.


3. Earn 1 KrisFlyer mile for every 1 SGD spent on purchase of eligible Policy.


4. You must be an existing KrisFlyer member to earn miles. Please visit www.krisflyer.com to find out more about the KrisFlyer program.


5. To be eligible to earn miles, your KrisFlyer membership number must be entered correctly in the Booking Details page when booking a flight on www.singaporeair.com or www.silkair.com.


6. Miles earned are not transferrable, returnable and cannot be altered or redeemed for cash under any circumstances. AIG reserves the right to replace the miles earned in the Promotion with alternative rewards without prior notice.


7. Miles can only be earned by the lead customer (i.e. the main policy holder) with a valid KrisFlyer membership number.


8. Eligible customers must transfer KrisFlyer miles to their own individual KrisFlyer accounts. An eligible customer is not allowed to transfer KrisFlyer miles to another KrisFlyer account that does not belong to that eligible customer.


9. If there is any error in the details of the customer provided to AIG (including but not limited to name and KrisFlyer membership number), AIG will inform you via email to make the necessary amendments online at www.aig.com.sg/mmm.


10. Please allow approximately 14 working days after your trip departure date for miles to be credited into your KrisFlyer account.


11. KrisFlyer miles are earned only when you have paid for your Policy, and have departed from Singapore.

General Terms and Conditions

1. By participating in the Promotion, you agree that any information collected or held by AIG (whether contained in the application form or otherwise obtained) may be used and disclosed by AIG, its associated individuals/companies or any independent third parties (within Singapore) to arrange for the crediting of KrisFlyer miles. You may opt out of being enrolled in the Promotion via AIG’s website here.


2. Acceptance of the KrisFlyer miles shall constitute consent by you to allow the use of your name, image, voice and/or likeness by AIG and/or Singapore Airlines Limited and/or SilkAir (Singapore) Private Limited for editorial, advertising, promotional, marketing and/or other purposes without further compensation except where prohibited by law.


3. AIG reserves the right to terminate the Promotion or vary, delete or add to any of these terms and conditions from time to time without notice.


4. AIG, Singapore Airlines Limited and/or SilkAir (Singapore) Private Limited assume no responsibility for incomplete, lost, late, damaged, illegible, misdirected forms and/or other forms of communication which may result in any Booking not being made or any Policy not being purchased during the Promotion Period.

FAQ

1)     How long does this Promotion last?

 

This Promotion applies to all Travel Guard Direct policies which are successfully purchased via www.aig.com.sg/buy-travel from 1 March to 31 December 2019, both dates inclusive.

 

 

 

2)     How do I earn KrisFlyer miles when I purchase my Travel Guard Direct Single Trip Policy?

 

You will need to be an existing KrisFlyer member at the time when you purchase your Policy. You can then earn KrisFlyer miles when you successfully purchase AIG Travel Guard Direct on www.aig.sg/buy-travel and provide us with your KrisFlyer membership number.

 

You can alternatively provide your KrisFlyer membership number to us at www.aig.com.sg/mmm within 60 days of the date of departure indicated in the Policy.

 

 

3)     How many KrisFlyer miles will I earn when I purchase Travel Guard Direct?

 

You will earn 1 KrisFlyer mile per S$1 spent on the purchase of any AIG Travel Guard Direct Single Trip Policy.

 

 

4)     If I forget to add my KrisFlyer membership number when I purchase a Travel Guard Direct policy, can I still make a retroactive claim for the KrisFlyer miles at a later date?

 

Yes, you may do so at www.aig.com.sg/mmm within 60 days of the date of departure indicated in the Policy.

 

 

5)     Can I earn KrisFlyer miles when I purchase my Travel Guard Direct policy through other channels (e.g. the call centre)?

 

This is not possible at the moment.

 

6)     Do all policyholders in the booking earn KrisFlyer miles?

 

·       For an individual Policy, the main policyholder will earn the KrisFlyer miles;

·       For a Family Policy, only the main policyholder will earn the KrisFlyer miles; and

·       For a Group Policy, all insured persons will earn KrisFlyer miles and such miles will be computed based on the proportion of the premium for the Group Policy which is attributable to that insured person.

 

7)     When will the KrisFlyer miles be credited into my account?

 

KrisFlyer miles will be credited into your KrisFlyer account approximately 15 business days after the date of departure indicated in the Policy.

 

8)     How can I be a KrisFlyer member?

 

Anyone who is two years of age or above can join KrisFlyer. You may enroll at http://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/ppsclub-krisflyer/registration-form/ to start earning miles when you fly, on the ground or when you shop. Registration for KrisFlyer membership is free.

 

 

9)     What are the KrisFlyer programme terms and conditions?

10)  What if I had provided a wrong KrisFlyer membership number, or forgotten to provide KrisFlyer membership number, at the time of purchase?

 

You may make the necessary amendments at www.aig.com.sg/mmm within 60 days of your date of departure indicated in the policy, by logging in using your Policy number and identification number of the main policyholder.

 

 

11)  I am not able to log into Manage My Miles to update my KrisFlyer number. What should I do?

 

Please check that the Policy number and identification number provided are exactly identical to that on your Policy document.

12)  I am the main policy holder. Can I choose to credit the miles into someone else’s KrisFlyer account?

 

No. Eligible AIG Customers must transfer KrisFlyer miles to their personal KrisFlyer membership accounts, and not to another account that does not belong to that Eligible AIG Customer.

 

1. When does this start?

This applies to all AIG travel insurance policies sold on www.singaporeair.com or www.silkair.com effective Wednesday, 2 May 2018, for customers departing from Singapore only.

 

2. How do I earn KrisFlyer miles when I purchase SQ/MI travel insurance?

You first need to be an existing KrisFlyer member. You can then earn KrisFlyer miles when you add AIG travel insurance (i) during your flight booking on www.singaporeair.com or www.silkair.com, or (ii) after your flight booking through the Manage Booking portal. For a Group or Family policy, KrisFlyer miles may only be earned by the lead customer making the booking.

 

3. How many KrisFlyer miles do I earn when I add insurance for my flight booking through SQ/MI’s websites?

Customers with valid KrisFlyer memberships earn 1 KrisFlyer mile per S$1 spent on AIG travel insurance, unless otherwise specified, e.g. during promotional campaigns.

 

4. If I forget to log into my KrisFlyer account when I add insurance on www.singaporeair.com or www.silkair.com, can I submit a retroactive claim for the mileage credit later?

Yes, you may do so at www.aig.com.sg/mmm within 60 days from your flight departure date.

 

5. Can I earn KrisFlyer miles when I purchase my SQ/MI travel insurance policies through other channels (e.g. the call center)?

This is not possible at the moment.

 

6. Do all passengers in the booking earn KrisFlyer miles?

KrisFlyer miles will be awarded only to the lead customer in the booking (i.e. the main policy holder).


Example 1:

3 adult travelers in the same booking with insurance added through Manage Booking, and only the 2nd insured person provided a valid KrisFlyer membership number.


Cost of insurance per pax: S$10
Total price of insurance: 3×S$10 = S$30


KrisFlyer miles earned by 1st adult traveler (main policy holder) – nil
KrisFlyer miles earned by 2nd adult traveler – nil
KrisFlyer miles earned by 3rd adult traveler – nil


Example 2:

3 adult travelers in the same booking with insurance added through Manage Booking, and each provided a valid KrisFlyer membership number.


Cost of insurance per pax: S$10
Total price of insurance: 3×S$10 = S$30


KrisFlyer miles earned by 1st adult traveler (main policy holder) – 30
KrisFlyer miles earned by 2nd adult traveler – nil
KrisFlyer miles earned by 3rd adult traveler – nil

 

7. When will the miles be credited into my account?

Miles will be credited into your KrisFlyer account approximately 15 business days after your flight has departed from Singapore.

 

8. How can I be a KrisFlyer member?

The First/Given name needs to be exactly identical to that on your flight booking, e.g. “AH CHEW DAVID MR” and not “AH CHEW DAVID” nor “AH CHEW MR”.

 

12. It has been 15 business days after my departure from Singapore, and I still do not see any KrisFlyer miles being credited into my account. Who should I contact to resolve this?

Please send an email to TravelGuard.SQ@aig.com and quote your policy number and KrisFlyer membership number.

 

13. I am the main policy holder. Can I choose to credit the miles into someone else’s KrisFlyer account?

Eligible AIG Customers must transfer KrisFlyer Miles to their own individual KrisFlyer Accounts. An Eligible AIG Customer is not allowed to transfer KrisFlyer Miles to another KrisFlyer Account that does not belong to that Eligible AIG Customer.
