AIG On the Go Driving App FAQs
AIG On the Go will score your driving performance based on these factors:
- Acceleration events
- Exceeding the speed limit
- Breaking events
- Cornering speed
- Average speed
- Distance travelled
To report an issue with any of your trips, click on "MY TRIPS" in the app and select the specific trip in question. Next, click on "MAP" and tap anywhere within the mapped completed trip to provide your feedback in the pop-up box.
A score is the overall rating of your driving performance based on various factors (see details above).
It ranges from 40 to 100. Your average score for the last 12 weeks can be found on the main screen of the app when you open AIG On the Go.
While each trip is assigned its own score, the overall score is recalculated and updated after each trip.
You will be contacted via email and/or notified through the Rewards section of AIG On the Go.
At the login screen, please click on 'Forgot Password'. A temporary password/code will be sent to your email, with instructions on how to set a new password.
Only one vehicle can be registered to each AIG On the Go account created. The account holder must be the registered owner of the vehicle.

No, your score will not affect your existing or renewal premium. Similarly, if you are a new AIG customer, your low score on AIG On the Go will not result in a higher premium being charged. AIG On the Go is part of AIG’s mission to improve road safety in the community by raising greater awareness of the benefits of safe driving.
AIG On the Go only recognises users based on the email address provided. If you would like to change your email address, you will need to write to firstname.lastname@example.org on this request. The discount earned will be valid until you utilise it. Do note that the discount amount will fluctuate real time based on the driver’s driving behaviour as recorded in the app.
Yes, you can. You can earn the insurance premium discount again when you use the AIG On the Go app, and apply it when you renew your vehicle insurance policy with us.
Your phone’s GPS signal is used in measuring your driving performance. Hence, if the GPS signal on your phone is weak, this will affect the accuracy of the data. There can be multiple causes for the weak GPS signal, such as poor reception in high buildings, tunnels, line-of-sight obstructions, etc.
AIG offers you up to 15% off your next AIG vehicle insurance premium (new purchase or renewal). Effective from 15 February 2021, we are introducing the new discount structure:
If you show yourself to be a safe driver and your driving score in each trip meets the required score stated in each discount tier, the distance of that trip will be counted to the discount tier.
- Discounts are progressive. This means that you have to unlock the base discount of 3% first in order to unlock the next discount tiers.
- Each discount tier has different distance and score requirements. Be sure to check them out in the app!
- For example, record a minimum of 100 kilometres to unlock the base discount of 3%. Only distances in trips of score 90 and above will be counted towards this tier.
- Similarly, assuming you have unlocked 5% and now you are onto your next discount tier of 7%, you will have to record a total of 200 kilometres to unlock the 7% discount. Only distances in trips of score 95 and above will be counted towards this tier.
- Each time you fulfil the kilometres and meet the scores stated in the table, your discount will increase by an additional 2% (up to 15% total).
Note: If you do not meet the driving score requirement stated in the discount tier, your distance in that trip will not be counted to the discount.
- All the discounts you have accumulated since your last discount reset will automatically be transferred to the new structure.
- If you have not applied any discount before, all your recorded trips will automatically be calculated under the new structure for your discount.
Your current total discount is displayed on the discount screen of the AIG On the Go app. More detailed information is shown in each discount tier box. There you can see the progress bar of the distance accumulated to date and if the discount tier has been unlocked.
No, once you unlock a discount, it is yours to keep even if your score for a trip does not meet the score requirements in the discount tiers (e.g. under 90 points). In that case, that trip will not be counted to your discount tiers.
When you have successfully unlocked your discounts, you can claim your discount by clicking on “Call For Your Discount” or call us at 6419 3000.
Once you claim your discount, the discount in your app will automatically reset to 0% and you are entitled to earn new discounts again.
Your total discount will reset to 0% automatically under the following circumstances:
- When you apply the discount for a new purchase on an AIG car insurance policy
- When you apply for renewal on your AIG car insurance
- About 1 to 2 months before your renewal, your total discount will be applied to and reflected on your renewal notice
Once you have unlocked the maximum 15% discount, you are able to unlock a mystery reward gift. The gift will be made available to you in your app or sent to your email address once the Mystery Prize tier is unlocked.
The driving focus feature evaluates the amount of attention you, as a driver, pay to your main task of driving versus the various distractions in your immediate surroundings.
One of the biggest distractions is your mobile phone. For your safety and the safety of your passengers and other road users, you should refrain from having any interactions with your mobile phone whilst driving.
AIG On the Go takes into account the number of calls you made or answered whilst driving. All these events are distractions and will decrease your driving focus score as they draw your attention away from your main task of driving.
A small amount of mobile phone handling in these situations will not have an impact on your driving focus score. However, over time, if AIG On the Go recognizes that these are not isolated events but rather a habit you have developed, it will have some impact on your driving focus score. Handling your mobile phone while actively driving at a certain speed would have a bigger impact on your driving focus score.
For every trip you record, AIG On the Go will rank your driving focus as Low, Good or Excellent. If your driving focus score is Good or Excellent, 2 or 3 bonus points will be added to your overall driving score respectively. If your driving focus score is Low, you will not receive any bonus points but there will be no penalty either.
We understand that in some situations, mobile phone use cannot be avoided. Hence, the scoring for driving focus is designed to reward drivers who consciously make the effort to refrain from using their mobile phones whilst driving.
AIG On the Go will detect movements that usually occur when a person is using a mobile phone, by picking up the changes in the orientation of the mobile phone. For instance, it will detect movements such as picking up the mobile phone and raising it to your ear, or passing the mobile phone from your right hand to your left hand (or vice versa). These movements will be classified as phone handling events.
