Own Damage Claims
When to make an own damage claim
You may want to make an own damage claim if:
- You are at fault for an accident.
- You are not at fault, but the other party makes the report in their own favour, and you may not be fully compensated.
How to make a claim
To file an own damage claim, send your vehicle to one of our authorised workshops or any of the workshops listed on your certificate of insurance.
Submit your claim at the workshop. AIG will liaise with your workshop directly.
For your convenience, you can lodge your personal accident or medical expenses claim under your car insurance policy.
As a policyholder, you can claim medical expenses for yourself, or for your authorised driver and passengers. Contact us to make a claim.
Things to note
Depending on your policy terms and conditions, you may need to pay an excess for your claim. The excess should be paid directly to the workshop when you collect your vehicle.
Repairs carried out at any of our designated authorised workshops come with a policy lifetime repair guarantee, for as long as you are insured with AIG. Learn more
Enjoy a waiver of up to S$1,080 (including GST) on your accidental repair excess if you provide the video footage of the accident captured by the in-car camera installed in your vehicle. Learn more
