If you have a travel claim, let us know as soon as possible.
You must notify us within 30 days after the occurrence of any event which may give rise to a claim.

 

 

Important Notice

There have been large-scale protests in Hong Kong since June 2019.

No cover will be provided for losses or damages in connection with such ongoing protests and associated disruptions unless the Travel Guard or Travel Guard Direct policy was purchased before 5 August 2019 0001 hours.

How to make a claim

 

 

Prepare the relevant supporting documents for your claim. We may contact you for additional documents and information, if those are required

All claim types
• Submit your claims online.
• Please include a copy of your passport and complete travel itinerary.

  • Original medical bills and receipts.
  • Doctor’s memo / medical report / inpatient discharge summary.

  • Death certificate.
  • Medical reports, autopsy and toxicology report.
  • Police report and findings on the alleged accident.
  • Copy of grant of probate or letter of administration.
  • Child’s birth certificate (for Child Education Grant Benefit).

  • Booking confirmation/original invoice.
  • Letter of refund.
  • Medical report/memo from the doctor advising the fitness to travel.
  • Copy of the death certificate (where applicable).
  • Proof of relationship to insured.
  • Proof of unused entertainment ticket/frequent flyer points (for Disruption Benefit).

  • Hotel/police report/relevant authorities.
  • Written bank confirmation (for Fraudulent Credit Card Usage Benefit).
  • Bank investigation result.

  • Police report.
  • Original transportations and accommodation receipts in obtaining replacement travel documents.
  • Original receipts for replacement/temporary travel documents.

  • Property irregularity report / hotel / police report / relevant authorities.
  • Original purchase receipts.
  • Original repair receipts / quotations.
  • Compensation letter from airline / hotel / any other parties.

  • Airline letter on the flight delay.
  • Travel itineraries and boarding pass.

  • Property irregularity report.
  • Acknowledgement receipt on date and time baggage received.
  • Travel itineraries and boarding pass.

  • Third party details involved in the incident.
  • Details of any solicitor you have engaged.
  • All correspondence received from any third party or their representatives.
  • Original receipts.

  • Car rental agreement.
  • Damage report.
  • Original final repair bill and receipt.

What to expect

We process most straightforward travel insurance claims within 10 business days if they are submitted with complete documentation. It may take longer to process a claim if we require additional information or documents from you.
